Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (two hour lunch/rest break)
Sunday,, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (two hour lunch/rest break)
Curriculum Description:
The second of four northern California intensives to be offered
in 2008, this will be dedicated to ba gua quan's spring liver-waist
trigram pairing.
Forms: eight standing meditations,
liver palace fist, even lifting palm, wind wheel palm.
Techniques borrowed from: liver
palace fist, eight palm fist, eight mother palms, pao chui
Mystery teaching: the liver
soul temperament, chinese medicine, chinese medical psychology,
western Rosicrucian medicine, challenges of opening the intelligence
of the liver and waist related to personal growth and character.
Trust in the power
of relationships and community is necessary
to release repressive forces in the organs and
neuromuscular body. Formlessness, and the activation
of ba gua quan's famed "natural strength," is
a function of correct physical method that invokes
expansion of the three-fold (thinking- feeling-willing)
human being. Hence, the original system of ba
gua quan this lineage contends, was a whole
life spiritual inquiry that led one
to the doorway of the Mysteries. The
art of fighting is both a means
and a tool to complete actualization.
